Recounting the horror of some visitors’ experience at the immigration arrival in klia2, Malaysia Airports had built on the feedback and completing it in short notice. The immigration arrival area is now twice its original size in welcoming tourists for Visit Malaysia 2020 (VM2020).
The new and improved facility is now more spacious and comfortable–capable of accommodating twice its capacity from previously. During peak periods, the large area at klia2 can accommodate approximately 1,000 people at a time.
“As the custodian of the main gateway into the country, our aim is to provide a joyful experience for our guests–more so with VM2020. We know that passengers are generally tired upon their arrival and congestion at any of the critical touchpoints would just add to their stress,” shared Raja Azmi Raja Nazuddin, group chief executive officer of Malaysia Airports.
Compared to the previously stressful sea of crowd, passengers can now queue more orderly in the spacious arrival area. The implemented snake queue will be more efficient and shorten the wait time as passengers will be able to go to the next available immigration counter more systematically.
Aside from that, the reconfigured area also introduces priority lanes for disabled passengers and families with small children. There are now 58 immigration counters and 10 auto-gates for Malaysian passport holders at klia2 arrival area.
