In commemoration with Octoberfest, we take a look at some craft beer joints in Kuala Lumpur for the adventurous beer drinkers.
Ales & Lagers | D5-G4-3, Publika Shopping Gallery
Located inside a printing shop, Ales & Lager has an impressive selection of craft beers with the most whimsical of art work. Bears, sailor and even the devil are plastered on these imported dark bottles in eye-catching colours and fonts. The industrial-designed place rotates their stock, taking in craft beers from the States, the UK and even Norway. Pick your choice of stouts, IPA, pale ales and lagers to satisfy every palate thanks to unique flavours like chocolate, coriander and pineapple. While you’re there, take advantage of their food promo when you buy their snacks like edamame and baby octopus together with their bottled brew.
PAUS | Persiaran Zaaba, Taman Tun Dr Ismail, KL
Behind the name, PAUS translates to ‘whale’ in Malay which is reference to the term ‘craft beer whale’ that means a unique trophy beer that is exceptional in taste and limited in release. Variety is the strong point of PAUS as they serve lagers, porter stouts and ales from New Zealand, Australia and the US among other countries.
