Come 1st of January 2017, higher airport taxes will commence in KLIA and klia2 and other airports for international and domestic destinations.
The airport tax or Passenger Service Charge (PSC) will see an increase of RM8 to RM73 for international flights from KLIA. While RM11 will be charged for domestic flights from KLIA, klia2 and other airports.
Travellers flying to ASEAN countries however, will enjoy a lower PSC rate of RM35 instead of the current RM65. This only applies to those departing from KLIA as klia2 will raise RM3 for ASEAN destinations.
Note that passengers who cancel their flight or do not board after purchasing their ticket are eligible for a full refund of the PSC.
