Malaysia’s very own celebrity fashionista who started off hosting on TV has an insatiable thirst for the wanderlust. Now she juggles her time raising her twin daughters while building a fashion empire to boot. Though she still finds the time to globetrot with her adorable family and give us fans major Instagram envy. Here she talks about her favourite destinations and her style tips to looking chic abroad.
Where is a place that you’ve travelled to that you would highly recommend to your friends?
New York!
How do you keep yourself and your kids occupied during long flights?
I usually download movies or shows on iFlix and that keeps the whole family entertained throughout the flight. Of course, if there is in-flight entertainment then we just watch that. Otherwise, activity and colouring books are also good. And I can’t sit through a flight without my music too.
What is a beauty essential that you always bring when you are travelling?
Moisturizer and facial masks! Flights are so dehydrating.
What attracts you to a new destination?
The culture, food, and local entertainment.
You have your own fashion label. What do you pay close attention to whenever you are designing a collection?
Silhouettes – specifically how they make a woman look fabulous.
What is your secret to looking stylish while on holiday?
Lots of basics such as jeans, white tops, little black dresses. Throw in a few fabulous coats and dresses and shoes that can pretty much go with anything, and I’m done. Obviously it also depends on the weather over at my destination.
Hari Raya Aidilfitri is coming up. Any ideas or inspirations on what you are going to wear for the celebration?
I’ll be wearing my very own Sazzy Falak Eid 2017 collection… which is now already sold out, haha. But we’ll make more. I’ll also be wearing our famous floral wrap kebaya designs.
Have you ever travelled solo? Or do you prefer to travel with friends and family?
Both has its perks. I love travelling solo cause it’s fun being on your own; it’s adventurous and thrilling. It’s always good to have good travelling buddies, however. My husband and my good friend Yasmin Hani make the best of travelling buddies.
Do you prefer to holiday at cold or warm weather countries?
I generally prefer the cold; I like the 4-season countries. But when I feel like going to the beach… nothing stops me.
What is next for Sazzy Falak in 2017?
More projects and collaborations. Look forward to a bigger collection and even more offerings with the establishment of my new Lyfestyle House company. Will give you more details soon!
