The world has many fascinating events and one of it lies in a relatively small country in Oceania. Besides stunning landscapes and warm people, New Zealand shares another significant reality with people.
Never missing a day, New Zealand is the first country in the world to welcome sunrise every morning.
100% Pure New Zealand
Good Morning World
As a global gesture of welcome, New Zealanders are opening their hearts and home towns to the world, with locals from across the entire country sharing a “Good Morning World” welcome message from their very own sunrise.
Introducing a new world-first tourism experience, Tourism New Zealand has launched their new marketing campaign “100% Pure Welcome–100% Pure New Zealand” today.
The Place to Catch the First Sunrise
If you don’t want to miss anything, Gisborne is another unique destination to add to your New Zealand trip to partake in the world-first tourism experience–Greet The Dawn–at Hikurangi, a sacred maunga (mountain).
The sacred maunga in Gisborne is one of the first places in the world to see the sunrise. Once reaching the top of the mountain, you will behold a stunning landscape against the morning sun.
As Stephen England-Hall, the Chief Executive of Tourism New Zealand has put it, “This new approach to our storytelling brings to life the unique nature of New Zealand. We set out to treat our visitors like whanau (family) which is underpinned by the Maori concept of manaakitanga, creating deep connections between people, extending hospitality, care and respect.”
Truly, thank you all for the warm welcoming to be part of your beautiful sunrises!
