In setting trends, Malaysia is one of the country that seems to follow the steps, but recently there has been a changing in direction as the nightlife in the heart of Kuala Lumpur has slowly begun to open up its channels and flowing towards a more diverse and exciting scene.
Pisco’s would still have the entitlement from being one of the very top, overcrowded bars that is popular among those expats and the high-end society of Kuala Lumpur; owned by Spaniard, Nico who’s worked this masterpiece of art from a scratch and dedicated all his time to make this venue alongside his partner Yvonne which just proves to all that both show business and personal can mix, and the good vibes this Spanish tapas bar emits.
It doesn’t stop here as they also have these funky/soul/reggae musicians in to play out live music, but also during these bustling busy weekends, Sound Love Affair takes place. Have you heard about Sound Love Affair? This is about the love of good sound that is enjoyed by creative individuals, started up by none-other than Friz; Sound Love Affair portrays to be a night of deep, sensual house music played on the second floor of Pisco’s where all these people can hardly intertwine through each other as it is always jammed and full packed.
If you happen to notice just next door from it, there is another venue where you can again enjoy good deep house which is named Nagaba, which actually owned by the same guy as Lust which is just located opposite and is re-known for it’s hot & sexy R&B nights with the local swag from the cover, Nagaba is a fun exploration of three floors entertainment house.
On the rooftop, there will be a usual Sunday sunset parties that take place normally, on the second floor, the deep and tech music fills your ears and normally once a month, they will bring in a talented international DJ just to pump up the ambiance. On the bottom floor, it’s more towards an exclusive lounge and restaurant to experience a good conversation with your loved ones filled with dim lights and shots by the bar all night long.
So let’s move a little further as Frangipani’s is another heavenly spot where you can enjoy unlimited tech-house, usually with Jonathan who’s a resident DJ there as well as a fabulous socialite; not only is there good tech-house music, but a very fresh array of musical selections for all such as the classic R&B and old-school hip hop, minimal house, Latin house, and all these vibrant tunes will make you want to get on your feet and shake off your booty.
Although Frangi’s is well known for its ever famous ‘Gay Nights’ on Friday, don’t be fooled as it is usually tends to be crowded with more sexy girls than hot boys, since these immoral men don’t try and feel them up.
The spots which we mentioned previously are the venues you’d definitely want to check out if you are more on the deep-house side of music kind of people rather than commercial songs, which are in turn bring a lot of fun to bring your friends with, but always know where to go if in case you decide to switch things up for your own comfort and taste a little.
Amongst this bustling streets filled with pubs and bars along it, there are also several remarkable English pubs with raucous loud music and disco lights that is worth to check out for, etc. just like a bar in England, and during weekends, this will be one of the busiest streets in town, the hustle and bustle of KL never sleeps!
However if you may notice that in Jalan Mesui there is a brand new bar named Favela (after the Brazilian street bars – like the ‘barrio’ in The City of God) owned by Tunku Khairil which also have a hotel attached and furthermore adding more delight of being able to host some of the amazing rooftop parties on the very top which we heard also has a swimming pool. Full with Latin vibes, crazy rhythms and fun entertainment night alongside amazing cocktails are all can be expected for Changkatters, so always keep this place on the lookout!
Also you will never run out of things that you can do in Kuala Lumpur, you just have to know where to find a good crowd to run with, and know all the options that currently available for you. Food will be served in most of the bars and pubs in Changkat commonly before 11pm, and some of these pubs even have real bacon and lots of nightly steamboat stalls for the aftermath and hangover of a drunken night are placed all around this area.
