Treehouse, Bangkok
The first resort to open on the city’s wild green lung is a trailblazing beacon of green living, an escape from the busy city. The 12-room boutique inn is nestled amid a wilderness of mangroves and palm trees on Bang Krachao, a small island known as Bangkok’s ‘green lung’ in the Chao Phraya River. Automobile-free, Bang Krachao is home to six small communities, fruit orchards, 200-year-old Buddhist temples and is only accessible by boat, although connecting to the city’s Skytrain is a snap.
Tree House is the creative fruit of Joey Tulyanond, whose family also owns the Old Bangkok Inn in the capital’s historic old quarter.

Situated in the sleepy town of Serendah (an hour away from Kuala Lumpur), this 10-shed forest retreat is not for fussies.

The sheds’ pristine white bedding, genius use of industrial items like netting, and exposed brick walls are also Instagram-worthy
Prices per night ranging from RM 300 to RM 450 for 4 pax (Prices varies on weekends).
